I have been a fan of the talented New Orleans musician Dave Jordan ever since I heard him at Jazz Fest a few years back. It turned out he was a fan of my work as well so he was into being my next subject. We met at City Park and I took reference photos of him under the beautiful old oak trees. I love how this one came out in the end although I have to say it was quite a challenge painting the Spanish moss down to my liking. I told him to think of his happy place when I was taking the photos and it kind of stuck with me so I used that as the title since City Park is indeed a happy place for so many of us.
